TECH CAMP 2009

Tech Camp is a two week outreach program sponsored by the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences and the Joan and James Leitzel Center at the University of New Hampshire. In its second year, the program, designed to introduce campers to the world of engineering, engaged 68 young people in grades 7 – 10 from throughout New Hampshire. Campers explored fields in aerospace, robotics, technology transfer, biomedical engineering, and alternative energy through workshops and hands-on activities that focused on basic principles and problem solving skills. Additionally, students visited relevant research laboratories on UNH’s Durham campus as well as participated in a daylong trip to the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, the USS Albacore Submarine, and Seabrook Station.
