From ‘Engineeristas’ to post-doctoral associates
A
career in science can start with a scholarship to Tech Camp’s new
“Engineeristas” week-long program for middle-school girls. The University of
New Hampshire hosts a number of summer camps for middle and high school
students interested in exploring the fields of science, technology,
engineering, and math (STEM). NH EPSCoR provides

Kids on Campus
Keene State College offers Kids
on Campus, a program for kids entering
first through eighth grade. Classes
provided are a half day, with groupings (1st & 2nd
grades, 3rd – 5th grades, & 6th – 8th
grades) based on the students’ interest and the level of the course’s content.
There are 10-16 different classes for each group, from “Incredible Insects” to “GPS,
Geocaching, and Google Maps.” NH EPSCoR provides scholarships. Click here for more information.

STEM-Health Camp
White Mountains Community
College’s STEM-Health (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and
Health Careers) Camp provides
opportunities for students to explore the world around them and study how things
work. Students entering grades 6 through
8 engage in scientific inquiry, problem-solving, and hands-on activities. NH EPSCoR provides scholarships.

Project SMART
Project SMART is a summer camp hosted by the University of New Hampshire for talented
high school students currently enrolled in the 10th or 11th
grade. The 4-weeklong camp teaches
advanced topics in the science, mathematics and computer fields while providing
opportunities for students to learn about the interdisciplinary nature of
research and to do basic research of their own.
